Hello future students!
I started teaching Dutch more than 10 years ago when I was a social activities coordinator for the Erasmus students Network at my university. I got a lot of requests to organize a Dutch language course and then I discovered I really love teaching! I studied clinical psychology and during my last year I also did an education in second language acquisition and didactics (when I was actually supposed to write my thesis ahum). One of the things I like about teaching is that it actually involves a lot of psychology!
After graduating I lived in Spain for two years where I taught English and for the past three years I have been fulltime teaching Dutch here in Amsterdam. I find a save learning environment very important and want everyone to feel super comfortable in class and feeling free to ask anything. Furthermore you could describe my classes as fun, interactive and structured. I believe in a solid grammar base but also in applying grammar immediately and using it in practical and functional ways! The focus in class is always on speaking and I love to make use of games as much as possible. Learning can and should be fun! See you in class ☺
